Seat Belt Checkpoint, Saturday, April 27

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is partaking in the annual “Buckle Up in Your Truck”, and this week will conduct a seat belt checkpoint at a an undisclosed location within Calcasieu Parish on Saturday, April 24.

According to a CPSO media release from Kim Myers, the latest checkpoint will target individuals who are not wearing their seat belt, as well as anyone driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics."Louisiana law mandates that all passengers in a vehicle are to be buckled up, even those in the back seat".
