Shreveport Brothers Team With Texas Brothers For Big CMA Win
Four men; two last names. One big win for Shreveport and Texas! That's the way it went down at last night's Country Music Association Awards Show.
Each year in November, as the world watches, all of country music's best and brightest are saluted for having provided the finest in the country world with the annual CMA Awards Show.
And last night, when the CMA Award for "Song Of The Year" was announced, Shreveport and Texas hit the stage!
The Song of the Year Award actually goes to the songwriters, and the 2022 Song of the Year was "Buy Dirt". You might recall that the song was recorded by Jordan Davis and Luke Bryan.
The winning writers were Jordan Davis, Jacob Davis, Josh Jenkins and Matt Jenkins. And when the four walked on stage, Nashville suddenly became an extended part of the Arklatex.
See, what you might have been unaware of is that Jordan and his brother Jacob Davis are from right here in Shreveport! And maybe I'm being a little liberal by calling Aledo, Texas, part of the Arklatex since it's just outside Fort Worth, but that's the home of brothers Josh and Matt Jenkins.
As Jordan Davis accepted the award, he truly hit the mark with his summation of the song, saying "It's a song about faith and family and if that's not country music I don't know what is."

Way to go boys! You really made us proud, especially all of the old Cedar Grove gang!
