KNGT-FM - The 2026 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is in full swing in Houston, Texas, with big-time rodeo events and big-name artists in concert each night. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, known as Rodeo Houston, started back on March 2nd and will run through March 22nd, with the final concert of the three-week event.

For the most part, the rodeo and concerts have been smooth, until a few days ago, when incidents prompted organizers and law enforcement to implement changes.

RodeoHouston has updated its dress code for entry to the carnival, rodeo, and concerts. It was announced on Facebook and reported by HTX News with the new guidelines for entry to the rodeo. The report said in part,

The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo has announced a dress code policy for guests entering NRG Park, as officials work to keep the event safe and family-friendly after several disturbances over the weekend at the carnival area.

Under the updated guidelines, guests must wear shirts and proper footwear, and clothing with obscene language, offensive graphics, excessively torn material, or visible undergarments will not be allowed. Attire or tattoos showing gang affiliation and face coverings meant to hide identity are also prohibited, with exceptions for religious or medical reasons. --HTX News

Reasons for the change? It appears that large fights and crowd issues are why organizers and law enforcement are tightening entry policies for the remainder of the rodeo.

Bottom line is that if you’re planning to attend the rodeo before it ends on March 22nd, you are recommended to make sure your attire meets the guidelines of the Houston Rodeo and law enforcement before arriving.
