As we have seen over the past couple of weeks, more and more events are starting to slowly come back after we have been without festivals and events for the past year.

Just last weekend, the Louisiana Railroad Days festival was held, while upcoming events like the Mauriceville Crawfish Bash and Flea Fest are back, with rumors circulating that Downtown at Sundown will also be back this spring.

Coming up in May in downtown Lake Charles, the Art & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana is bringing back the Spring Art Walk, featuring open-air art markets, art wars, entertainment, and popup galleries.

This is an absolutely free event and is open to the public. Current COVID-19 guidelines will be followed like mask wearing and practicing social distancing. The event coordinators will also monitor and adhere to the current guidelines as far as attendance capacity.

The walk will take place on Saturday, May 8 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm in downtown Lake Charles. They will have an adult art walk and a student art walk. There will also be food vendors, so you can get some yummy treats while browsing around looking at the incredible works of art at the show.

If you are an artist and would like to participate in the Spring Art Walk by showing off your works or if your a food vendor who would like to bring out your treats to everyone, head over to the Art & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana website.
