SWLA Disaster Relief Fund Christmas Event Set For Dec. 20

The Southwest Louisiana Disaster Relief Fund and their president Michael Boyer have announced a huge Christmas event in Lake Charles on December 20th to help folks for the holidays.

After the year we have had in Southwest Louisiana with COVID and two hurricanes there still is a real need for assistance for folks and families in the Southwest Louisiana area.

You will remember that the Southwest Louisiana Disaster Relief Fund folks worked tirelessly after hurricane Laura providing free meals to people in the area on McNeese Street in the Nina P's parking lot for weeks.

Now they want to help you for the holidays. Boyer says they have put together a huge team that wants to put on a huge Christmas event here in Lake Charles. Their hope during this event is to give out a toy to every Southwest Louisiana child who is in need this holiday season.

Do you want to help? People have been asking what can they do to help to make this event successful and the answer is donate TOYS. The goal is to get kids to smile again after all they have gone through this year.

Donations can be dropped off at Oasis Foods located at 2222 Kirkman Street in Lake Charles.
