Southwest Louisiana took to the polls this weekend to place their votes for their desired candidates.

Lake Charles re-elected Mayor Nic Hunter to return to office with 74% of the votes.

  • Nic Hunter 9,368 votes
  • Sean Ardoin 2,426 votes
  • Josh Lewis 626 votes
  • Jesse Barnard 275 votes

Here are the results from the city council elections in Lake Charles:

  • District A - incumbent Mary Morris are headed to a runoff
  • District B - Luvertha August was re-elected
  • District C - incumbent Rodney Geyen are headed to a runoff
  • District D - John Ieyoub was re-elected
  • District G - Mark Eckard was re-elected
  • District F - Craig Marks was elected
  • District G - Mark Eckard was re-elected

The runoff elections will be held on April 24.

The city of Jennings re-elected their Mayor Henry Guinn with 59% of the vote.

Here are the results from the city council elections in Jennings:

  • District A - Carolyn King Simon - 52% of the vote
  • District B - “Johnny” Armentor - 72% of the vote
  • District D - Anthony Leblanc - 68% of the vote
