Tips for Packing

  • Check the Itinerary: See if there are any special nights or events on your cruise that might need specific outfits.
  • Pack Versatile Clothing: Choose clothes that can be mixed and matched, so you’re ready for any occasion.
  • Don’t Overpack: Remember, your cabin might not have a lot of space, so bring only what you need.

The one thing I see most people gripe about is that Men aren't allowed to wear shorts and hats in to the Main Dining Room. That is a bit unfortunate. Many cruise lines have dress codes for meals in the main dining area. Men must wear long pants and should avoid wearing headgear. There is also a strong dislike for "beach and pool attire" in the main dining room.

The real change for Carnival Cruisers will come on the "Lido Deck" as they are updating your "Attire" for enjoying the buffet...

Apparently, aboard Carnival Cruise Lines, women have been seen wearing "thong-style bikinis" and males in "Speedo" style suits in the buffet dining area. Many guests find such apparel gross, as you can imagine.

Carnival Brand Ambassador John Heald addressed this topic in a recent Facebook post, and here's what he had to say... (via SunHerald)

"I know the crew do all they can to tell people to cover up but with hundreds of guests coming and going they don’t always catch everyone. But complaining about a chap currently sailing on the Carnival Elation for wearing a pair of budgie smugglers by the swimming pool makes me simply want to respond by saying ‘ Well then don't look, then FFS.” But of course, I didn’t," he added. "FFS" in Heald's world, means "for fun's sake."
