Three-Year-Old Child Shot During Lake Charles Home Invasion
Police are looking for two male suspects after they burst into a man's home in the early morning hours Tuesday and shot a three-year-old child in Lake Charles.
Lake Charles Police Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said two black males entered a home on Scott Street at around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday and demanded money from the resident there. The man said he didn't have any, so they began to beat him.
The adult victim was holding his three-year-old child in his arms while being beaten. While the suspects were beating the adult victim the handgun discharged striking the three-year old child. The suspects continued to strike the victim with the handgun as he was attempting to get away and get medical attention for his child. -- Press release
The child was listed as being in stable condition Tuesday afternoon. The adult victim was treated at a local hospital and released.
The suspects fled the scene in a green Chevy Suburban (model year 2000 to 2006), heading south on Common Street. Both men were allegedly wearing black hooded sweatshirts and masks.
