Summers in the south are never fun, especially when you add in the humidity. In Texas, the temperatures on many days reach nearly a hundred degrees and the heat index well exceeds that on many. Two Texas cities have been named the Top-5 most-humid cities in the entire United States.
WHAT ACTUALLY IS HUMIDITY?
Humidity is, in general, a measure of water vapor in the air. Meteorologists typically describe water vapor in the atmosphere in two different ways: absolute humidity and relative humidity. Dew point is an absolute measure and helps us understand how muggy and humid it feels outside.
It has been exceedingly hot and humid across the Southern states for several weeks, and I began to wonder which city is the most humid in the entire United States. The response may or may not surprise you.
According to research by Today's Homeowner, the Southern United States makes up well more than three-quarters of the country's most humid cities.
