I think Unsolved Mysteries is one of the creepiest shows I can ever remember watching. My grandmother would watch it before bed each time it came on. Of course, she only had one television so that was the only option. I can hear the theme song and it still gives me the chills. I remember I would get so creeped out from just the host's voice, I would hide under the blanket on the couch. At the end of every show, they would flash the number to call in if you wanted to report an anonymous tip about any case you had seen on that night's program. I never really heard of that working, until now.

35-year-old Dernell Nelson was arrested for a pair of murders that happened back in 2010. The victims were shot numerous times and ended up crashing the vehicle they were in. They were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The couple had a child in the backseat that survived, but with injuries from the crash.

In March of this year, the cold case was reopened after Kenner Police received an anonymous tip from Unsolved Mysteries. Detectives on the case say they connected DNA from the homicide to Nelson and made the arrest. There is another pending homicide case that could possibly also be on the hands of Nelson, as well.
