Surveillance footage shows a woman throwing a bag of puppies into a dumpster behind an auto parts store in the city of Coachella.

According to TMZ the woman was seen getting out of her Jeep and tossing a plastic bag into a recycling bin before driving away. Luckily a good samaritan saw what happened and contacted Animal Control.

The 7 puppies are said to be about 3 days old and were close to death by the time help arrived. Thanks to a team of veterinarians the puppies are now healthy and in the care of an animal rescue group.

As for the woman in the Jeep, according to KTLA 5, California Authorities have identified the suspect as Deborah Sue Culwell and she is currently in custody at the Indio Jail on $10,000 bail and will face 7 felony counts of animal cruelty.

When the Riverside County Department of Animal Services arrived at Culwell's home they were shocked to see it "over-run" with dogs. 38 dogs were seized from the residence and taken to Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms.
