With the return of Coach Matt Viator comes the return of a few local guys to the staff. On Monday, Viator rounded out his Coaching Staff with the addition of Tyler Bolfing as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, and Terence Cahee as linebackers coach.

The McNeese Football schedule for 2025 is beginning to take shape as on Tuesday it will be officially released, but we've got an early look at it.
The season kicks off at home on August 30, when McNeese faces Louisiana Christian at Cowboy Stadium in Lake Charles. This will be the first meeting between the two schools since 1966, a game McNeese dominated with a 31-0 victory. Historically, the Cowboys have never lost to Louisiana Christian, holding a perfect 7-0 record.
On September 13, McNeese will host Weber State at Cowboy Stadium. The two teams last faced off in 2024, when the Cowboys pulled off a thrilling 28-26 win.
The Cowboys will hit the road again on September 20 to play Utah State in Logan, Utah. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
While the official Southland Conference schedule has yet to be released, According to Jim Gazzolo with the Lake Charles American Press, McNeese is expected to play four home games and four away games in league play. At home, they will likely face Houston Christian, Southeastern, Northwestern State, and Texas-Rio Grande Valley, a newcomer to the conference making its football debut. Road games are anticipated against East Texas A&M, Nicholls, Stephen F. Austin, and rival Lamar.
