5 Of Your Favorite Cartoon Characters – How Old Would They Be Today?
I grew up watching cartoons. I never grew out of watching cartoons. In fact, I owe my job here at the radio station to a very carefully worded statement concerning The Flintstones. Cartoon characters never age, they just grow older and more dear to us over time. If they did age, how old would they be today?

SpongeBob SquarePants
SpongeBob has become an all time favorite of mine. When I first saw the show way back when in the early 90's watching Nickelodeon with my kids I thought "what were these guys smoking"? It turns out "The Bob" as we call him has become an icon. His birthday was actually yesterday. He is 29 years old based on information presented in the show.

George & Judy Jetson
The Jetsons were to the space age what the Flintstones were to the stone age. They were both produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and both excellent cartoons. I guess George and Judy were a little too advanced for actually civilization since we still don't have those really cool flying cars. George would be 101 years old today and Judy, his daughter, would be 66.

Arnold From Hey Arnold!
I had to qualify which Arnold I was talking about. I didn't want you to be disappointed if you were expecting the pig from Green Acres. Arnold's parents were apparently missionary-peace corps types. They disappeared while on a journey and we don't know if they are actually alive or dead. Arnold lived with his Grandpa Phil and his Grandmother. Arnold would be 29 today. Grandpa Phil would be 101.

Tommy Pickles
The Rugrats were another favorite of my kids as they were growing up. The adventures of Tommy and Chuckie, Phil and Lil and the evil Angelica often carried a deeper message than your typical childhood entertainment. I never really cared for Dill, I think that is when the show "jumped the shark" as they say. Tommy Pickles would be 24 today.

Beavis And Butthead
No I am not talking about current candidates for President. I am talking about the more mature cartoon that was made popular on MTV. I never really liked the show. It moved too slow and the writing was very predictable. There were plenty who did like Beavis and Butthead. I bet those people also like Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy. Another slow paced poorly plotted cartoon. Beavis and Butthead assuming they survived their formative years would be 37.
