America’s Best Cities? Two Are in Louisiana

[KNGT-FM] -- The 2025 list of America's best cities just came out, and you may be surprised to know that two major cities in Louisiana made the list. If you talk to people in Louisiana, they will always be glad to give you their opinion on which cities or towns in Louisiana are the best.

Now, if you are thinking that the two Louisiana cities that were mentioned on the list are small Cajun or rural towns, that is not the case. If you're from Louisiana and were born and raised here, you probably prefer the small towns and cities over the larger cities in the state.

The list of the top 100 cities in America was compiled by Resonance, and they have released their findings. Before we get to Louisiana's cities that were ranked, our neighbors to the West had three major cities that made the list. Surprisingly, Houston beat out Dallas and Austin as the best city in Texas and came in ranked as the 13th best city in America.

So, what cities in Louisiana made the list, and where did they rank, you ask? New Orleans landed on the list at #22 among the best cities in the country. Does that surprise you? People not from Louisiana automatically think of New Orleans when thinking about cities in the state because all they know about is Mardi Gras and Bourbon Street.

The other city in Louisiana that made the list was Baton Rouge, landing in the 94th spot on the list. The capital of Louisiana barely made it into the top 100 list.
