Springsteen is not usually on my playlist, call it a preference of his voice sounding like he's struggling a bit after eating Taco Bell. "The Boss" has taken the song and added it to his new, I don't really know what to call it, "movie album" he is directing called Western Stars. Basically, they made a movie out of the album. It features all of the songs from his new album, titled the same, but it was shot to let fans see the man himself perform with the band and a huge orchestra in an old barn.

One of the tracks in the album/movie/thing is Glen Cambell's Rhinestone Cowboy. Released in 1975, the song was a huge hit and eventually crossed over into the "pop" genre. The song screamed up the charts and was the first to top both the country and hot 100 charts since Jimmy Dean, before the sausage, released Big Bad John back in 1961

In case I haven't made it obvious, I am not a huge fan of Springsteen. Well, except for Santa Claus is Coming to Town. However, his version is actually pretty good. Give a listen for yourself!
