After learning that its NH European Style Butter Blend included an allergen "milk" that was not listed on the label, Bunge North America voluntarily recalled 1,800 cases, or an estimated 64,800 pounds, of the product, prompting the FDA to issue an initial notification.

The impacted butter has lot code 5064036503 and UPC 10078684 73961 2 and is sold in one-pound slabs in white paperboard containers. The "bad butter" was sold in both the Dominican Republic and the United States.

The FDA advises if you develop any allergy type symptoms you should seek medical treatment and "evaluate the need to use emergency medication (such as epinephrine)"

Don't forget, consumers who may be impacted by milk allergies should discard the product right once, even if no negative reactions have been documented in relation to this recall.
