Delta Downs Thoroughbred Season Starts Friday Night

Have you ever been to a horse race?  Have you ever been out to Delta Downs for a Thoroughbred horse race?  Well let me tell you, it is exciting heart pounding fun!  I have had the opportunity to be there a few times for some big races and let me tell you when you hear this huge animals run by you going so fast, it's a sound you will never forget!

Delta Downs and their track announcer Don Stevens has announced that the start of their 2015-2016 Thoroughbred season will begin this Friday night October 16th.  This week they will race Friday and Saturday night but then after that you can see racing every Wednesday through Saturday nights through March 12, 2016.

Two big races to circle on your calendar are Saturday November 21st for their one million dollar Delta Jackpot.  A few year's back, I met and interviewed country music mega star Toby Keith at Delta Downs racetrack during the Delta Jackpot.  Toby Keith, who raises racing horses, was on property because one of his horses was in the race.  Here is Toby Keith and I that night:

The second date you should mark on your calendar is Saturday February 6th, 2016 for their Louisiana Premier Night.

So get ready Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana because the sport of kings is coming back to Delta Downs this Friday night!
