According to a recent announcement (via CNN), Wendy’s, the popular fast-food chain known for its burgers, is set to close 140 restaurants in the coming months. This move comes after an earlier round of 100 closures back in May. Despite these shutdowns, Wendy’s still plans to maintain the number of its restaurants across the U.S., which stands at about 6,000. How? The chain will open new locations in places that are expected to perform better for business.

According to the report from CNN, Wendy’s mixed earnings report showed same-store sales growth of only 0.2%, which fell below analysts’ expectations. However, there’s still good news for the chain.
