In what seems to be a miracle on the lines of water to wine, the shores of Galveston Island were visible! You could see your feet, and even the sand bars yards from the shore. People took to social media and began freaking out about the phenomenon.

What in the world caused this? We all learned that the beaches in the Louisiana and Texas area are brown from sediment from local rivers and that little river that runs through Louisiana, the Mississippi. The sediment heads south and the currents disperse it though the area.

That was not the case this past weekend. The currents that usually shift the rivers around, moved more south. This made the pretty water we all dream about blow more North and instantly make Galveston a paradise on a postcard. How long will it last? Experts don't really know, but they know it won't be long. With school out, thousands are flocking to the area to enjoy the water for as long as possible.

A video from Houston's KHOU show just how clear the water was/is.
