Be still my 80's heart. On June 7, 1984, we were introduced to 3 scientists and a guy that needed a job. They were in New York, and trying to catch ghosts. Sadly, I was only a year old when the movie came out, but caught up on it later in life when the sequel came out in 1989. I made my dad rent me the video from the video place in Sulphur by the Delchamps. It was a taco place at some point, so we just called it Taco Video. Pretty sure it was Bo's Video and was a Top Gun style logo. Back to the story at hand.

Assuming you are not one of the 10 people that watched the horrible re-boot in 2016, we have not had a new Ghostbusters since 1989. Now, what a time to be alive. Sony Pictures just released the trailer for Ghostbusters:Afterlife. This is a continuation, in real time, of where we left off 30 years ago. They do acknowledged the fact that Egon Spengler, Harold Ramis, has passed away. Ramis passed away in 2014. There have been rumors that Spengler will make a cameo in the movie as a ghost.

Speaking of cameos, it seems all of the originals are back on top of an all new cast. According to IMDB and Wikipedia, Dan Aykroyd, Dr. Raymond "Ray" Stantz, Bill Murray, Dr. Peter Venkman, Ernie Hudson, Winston Zeddemore, and even Sigourney Weaver, Dana Barrett will all be in this movie. There is no credit listed for Rick Moranis, after his retirement from Hollywood to take care of his dying wife years ago.

We start with an old family farm house, that fans can assume was the property Ray put a second mortgage on in the first film to purchase the fire house in New York. Egon's grandchild can be seen rifling through his old spore and fungus collection. Actor Paul Rudd plays the kid's teacher, and also reveals how he was a big fan of the team when he was younger. Apparently he will be their guide through the movie as the kids team up to fight some new ghosts in the sleepy little city.

The trailer was released this morning, and already has half a million views. I am responsible for 20 of them, easily. Here it is for your enjoyment too!
