Chefs from all corners of Louisiana are grabbing their tongs, knives, and Tony Chachere's to battle it out for the crown of "Best Seafood Chef" in Louisiana!

The 2018 King of Louisiana Seafood will be held in Lafayette on Tuesday June 19th.

Local chef Justin East will be reppin' The Chuck in the competition.  East grew up in Hackberry and went to culinary school at Sowela.  He's currently the Executive Chef at Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse at the Golden Nugget.

Growing up on the Gulf Coast fostered his love not only for seafood but also cooking.

East will display his talents in front of a live audience and a panel of judges during the 2018 King of Louisiana Seafood competition.

The chefs will be judged based on 5 different culinary staples:

  • Presentation
  • Creativity
  • Composition
  • Craftsmanship
  • Flavor
