It took a couple of days longer than it should have but the LSU Tigers Baseball team finally got done what they intended to do. The Tigers are a team that's on a mission. Their mission is to not only make it to Omaha Nebraska and the NCAA College World Series. They intend to  win it.

The first step in the  tournament round of the mission was finally completed after weather delays in Baton Rouge over the weekend. The Tigers handily defeated the Rice Owls in a must win game to earn the regional round of the tournament.

Up next for the Tigers will be the Chanticleers. That's right the big chickens of Coastal Carolina who staged their own mini-miracle of sorts in the Raleigh Round of the NCAA Tournament. Coastal Carolina and North Carolina State were locked into a must win game on Monday night. When the game was suspended in the 9th inning with Coastal Carolina trailing by a score of 5-3.

What a difference a day makes. With one out in the 9th when play resumed Coastal Carolina was able to  generate four runs when a bases loaded single gave the Chanticleers all the runs they would need to punch their ticket to Baton Rouge.

The first game of the Super Regional series will be this Saturday night at 8 PM. The winner of the series will move on to Omaha where their first round oppenent will be the winner of the Florida, Florida State Super Regional.
