McNeese Softball Headed To Baton Rouge Regional

The McNeese women's softball team won their second straight Southland Conference title last Friday to get an automatic bid into a NCAA regional and Sunday, the Cowgirls found out where they were headed.

The Cowgirls will head down I-10 to Baton Rouge to participate in the Baton Rouge regional along with three other teams which two of them are also from Louisiana. The regional is a double elimination tournament.

McNeese will be in the regional with the Ragin' Cajuns of UL-Lafayette and LSU.  Also in the four team regional will be Fairfield.

First up for the women's softball team will be a game on Friday afternoon against the Ragin' Cajuns at 3:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3.com

If McNeese wins they will advance to play the LSU/Fairfield winner at noon Saturday. If the Cowgirls lose their first game then they play the loser of the LSU/Fairfield game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
