Road Trip to Lafayette? Home of the Last Popeyes Buffet

Buffets. Some love them, some hate them. No matter your feeling towards a buffet, there is no denying that if you leave hungry, it's your own fault. I am a BIG fan of a buffet, obviously. Each buffet, like a fingerprint, is unique in its own way. I have been to sushi buffets, pizza buffets, steak buffets, chinese buffets, casino buffets (I feel like Bubba from Forest Gump). Each visit left me full and regretting that last plate of bread pudding.

There have been a few places that have buffets once a week, those are the places that you just KNOW you're going to have a good time. Pitt Grill in Sulphur has one, BBQ West here in Lake Charles does one on Sundays, Raja Curry Grill has one on Sundays as well (just to name a few).

Years ago, I had heard rumors of a mythical buffet at Popeyes (love that chicken from Popeyessssss), I believe we even had one here in Lake Charles for maybe 2 seconds. Scrolling through Facebook, I run across a video/post that claimed Lafayette has the only remaining Popeyes Buffet in the world. That lead me to doing some Googling. The results I found made my fat feelings jump with joy! As of August of this year, it seems, the Popeyes buffet in Lafayette is still serving up crispy concoctions of chicken and sides. YouTube user Midnight Cravings took a video of his visit to the "Holy Land" and shared it for us all to see, and drool over.
