Seven years ago, two friends set out on an epic adventure, toting guns and wearing badges, taking down a Mexican drug lord while winning their girlfriends back.  No, not real life but two friends, Rodney Carrington and Toby Keith co-writing and starring in the feature film Beer For My Horses.  Loosely based on Keith's song with the same title, both Rodney and Toby felt the song's story needed to be expanded onto the big screen, with plenty of blue-collar comedy and tongue-in-cheek sketches to keep you in belly aches from laughing.

Rodney plays Deputy Lonnie Freeman, a goofy lawman who can't seem to keep his woman.  Leading an all-star cast including Willie Nelson, Tom Skerritt, Gina Gershon, and the legandary Ted Nugent, Toby and Rodney play their parts to a "T".  Definitely not missing out on a barrel of laughs from start to finish.  I am hoping Rodney brings the laughs October 10th when he performs at the Lake Charles Civic Center's Rosa Hart Theater.  I wonder if he will show a little of Lonnie's red-neck personality?  Sing the song, Rodney!
