For the past three seasons, Saints legend Zach Strief has been the play-by-play announcer on Saints radio network on WWL radio alongside another Saints legend, Deuce McAllister. He took over the broadcast duties back in 2018 after Saints announcer Jim Henderson retired.

On top of his duties of calling every game on the radio, he also hosted various shows for WWL radio out of New Orleans,  the flagship station for the New Orleans Saints franchise.

It has been announced that Strief will hang up his microphone and trade it for the sidelines, becoming the newest coach for the Saints. He has taken the job as the new assistant offensive line coach.

Zach Strief played 12 seasons for the New Orleans Saints as an offensive tackle before retiring and taking over the broadcast duties. His voice should be familiar to you as you have probably heard him here on Gator 99.5 because we are the home of the Saints on the radio here in Southwest Louisiana. We broadcast every game here on the air.

During his playing career, he played for head coach Sean Payton for all of his 12 years in the NFL. He was also part of that magical Saints team that won the Super Bowl in 2009.

He is a New Orleans Saint through and through, from a player to announcer to now a Saints coach. There is no word yet on who will replace Zach Strief in the broadcast booth.
