Nearly a year to the day that a time capsule from 1967 was unearthed, one from 2018 will be buried for the people of the year 2067 to open during the Lake Charles bicentennial celebration.

Items have been collected, and the vessel will be buried on the grounds of Historic City Hall on Ryan Street prior to Downtown at Sundown Friday evening (May 25).

On May 26, 2017, the fifty-year old vessel that city officials opened contained a newspaper, yearbook, letters from people in 1967, and centennial celebration souvenirs. It also included tape recordings from various people in that year, which you can listen to below.
