We have a list of spoiled food drop-off sites and trash collection schedules for SWLA.

Waste Management residential collection services will resume in Sulphur, Westlake, Vinton, Moss Bluff, Iowa, Dequincy and outlying unincorporated areas in Calcasieu Parish on Thursday with their regularly scheduled routes. They will only be collecting waste from trash cans. Residents who lost their trash cans in the storm should call Waste Management to get them replaced at 337-436-7229.

The parish has two drop-off sites for spoiled items from refrigerators and freezers:

  • Ward 1 Yard, 461 Parish Road, Moss Bluff
  • Ward 2 Yard, 7085 Highway 14 East in Hayes.
Lake Charles residents can drop off spoiled items from their refrigerators and freezers at the following locations between 9:00am and 3:00pm:
  • Grace & Medora Park, 2720 Medora Street
  • Henry Heights Recreation Center: 801 East School Street
  • Weaver Park Ballfields: 4436 Weaver Road
 The city of Lake Charles is planning on resuming its normal collection routes on Monday, September 7. Lake Arthur trash pickup will resume Monday on its regular schedule. DeRidder residents may drop off vegetational debris next to the Beauregard Cemetery starting at noon until 7:00pm. Garbage routes will start up again in the city of DeRidder on Monday.
