There is no doubt we are all feeling the madness from this pandemic. I find myself trying to do new things I always wanted to do with the extra time I have on my hands.

Here are some things I have been doing to try and keep my sanity.

Get creative in the kitchen

I’ve learned to love my crock-pot again. I found a recipe for a low and slow Coca Cola Roast. Toss a roast with your desired fixins, in the crock-pot and pour in a can of Coca Cola, then set it and forget it. It was even better when I used Dr. Pepper. I’ve also learned to perfect making my own Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits. (That’s probably how I gained the quarantine fifteen.)

Start or perfect a hobby

Learning how to play the guitar has always been on my bucket list. I have several laying around my house. After having a family friend tune one for me, I started watching beginner courses on YouTube. I’m happy to say I now know three chords. As far as I’m concerned, I am ready to play backup for Garth.

Virtual happy hour with friends

I am a very social guy. I cannot go days without interacting with friends. So, a group of buddies and I tossed around the idea for a virtual happy hour. Since Zoom is quickly becoming a way to interact, we set up a weekly zoom meeting where we pour a few cold ones and cut up as if we were sitting on bar stools somewhere. It’s gotten so popular, others are asking for the ID number to join in on our virtual happy hour. If you want to join, I will put you on the waiting list.
