Wednesday, Jan. 17th Things That Are Back Open In Lake Charles and SWLA
A ton of things closed early on Monday and all day Tuesday because of cold weather and ice on the roadways. Everything shut down on Tuesday, Jan. 17 including schools, roadways, and services.
Now that most of the really cold weather threat is over, roadways and services are now reopening starting today. We have a list of things back open in Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana for you here.
All Calcasieu Parish Police Jury offices and services are open and are operating on their normal schedules on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
According to City Administrator John Cardone, all City of Lake Charles administrative offices and services, including City Hall, will resume service within normal business hours on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Transit operations will resume with all routes being run on their normal schedules.
According to the city of Lake Charles, residents trash pickup schedule goes like this:
Trash and garbage normally picked up on Mondays will be picked up on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
- Trash and garbage normally picked up on Tuesdays will be picked up on Thursday, January 18, 2024.
- Trash and garbage normally picked up on Thursdays will be picked up on Friday, January 19, 2024.
Trash and garbage normally picked up on Fridays will be picked up on Saturday, January 20, 2024
According to the Louisiana State Police,
Due to severe weather, all state offices will be closed until noon Wednesday, Jan. 17. Beginning at noon, all offices will open and be operational through the remainder of the day.
All roadways in Southwest Louisiana including I-10 and I-210 bridges are open. There are no reports of any road closures at this time per the Louisiana State Police.
The city of Westlake, Louisiana, and city hall and all of the services are reopened today.
All schools are closed today and they will announce when they will re-open later today.
