Invite family and friends to Tuten Park as Gator Country celebrates Arbor Day today.  The fun gets underway at 9 a.m.. This is a great way to teach your kids what Arbor Day is all about and there will be a free tree giveaway by Coastal Plain Conservancy. Arbor Day is actually an unofficial US holiday observed most often on the last Friday in April, for the public planting of trees.

There will be educational projects and hands-on activities for children such as workshops on how to create bird feeders and planter boxes, tree experiments, and leaf art.

Tuten Park is located at 3801 Nelson Rd. For more information about the event contact Shawn Chamblee at schamble@bsamail.org or call 337-274-1510 or Ron Fossett at rfossett@cityoflc.us.
