Here in Southwest Louisiana, we are all too familiar with railroad crossings and trains running through our area. The folks that live in Westlake, Sulphur, Vinton, and Lake Charles are all too familiar with how many trains run through the Southwest Louisiana area.

For people who are from here, the big joke is always if you go through Westlake, be ready to get stopped by a train crossing the tracks.

Well, we can't imagine this but what if you were sitting at a crossing waiting for the train to go by and all of a sudden the train derails and comes off the tracks right in front of you? What would you do?

That is exactly what happened in New Iberia, Louisiana the other day. A train was motoring along Highway 182 in the city when all of a sudden, you see a huge cloud of dust and that is when this guy named Joshua Faulk started filming the train starting to derail. We found the video on Facebook via a share by Nicki Stein.

In the video you're about to watch below, you will see a huge cloud of smoke and dirt come from the train and then you will hear as the train starts to derail. understandably, the people around the derailment started using some profanity as they tried to come to grips with what was happening right in front of their eyes.

How crazy is that? It looks like parts of Highway 182 in New Iberia, Louisiana are currently closed as we assume they are trying to clean up the derailment. Prayers for all that were involved.
