Cowboy Block Parties Are Back! Wayne Toups Plays Aug 29 In Lake Charles

[KNGT-FM] The time of the year has come when all college football fans rejoice because it's football season again. It's time for tailgating, concerts, food, great friends, and football. And for McNeese Cowboy football fans, the festivities get underway this Friday night, August 29.

The popular concert series, the Cowboy Block Party presented by Lake Charles Toyota, starts this Friday night and right out of the gate will feature one of the biggest names in Louisiana music, Wayne Toups. The Cowboy Block Party takes place every Friday night before every home football game on Saturdays.

Make a note of this. This Friday's Cowboy Block Party will take place inside the Legacy Center instead of out at the Grove/Alumni Center. That's right, you will enjoy an air-conditioned concert to kick off the 2025 football season.

The doors at the Legacy Center, where the McNeese Basketball team plays, will open a 6:00 pm that night, and you are allowed to bring your own drinks. Also, there is no charge to come see Wayne play. That's right, it's free.

The rest of the Cowboy Block Parties, however, will all take place outside on the corner of McNeese and Common Streets at the Grove/Alumni Center grounds.
