We Need Your Vote: Name Our New Radio Man Cave

🐊 KNGT 🐊 | Lake Charles, LA — If you’ve been listening to Me and Mike in the mornings, then there is a good chance you’ve heard us talking about the “Man Cave.”

When I started here at Gator 99.5 almost two years ago, the studio was pretty bare, just bluish-gray walls and not much else. Back in the day, the studio had been decorated with all kinds of artist autographs, posters, and trinkets collected over the years. But when Hurricanes Laura and Delta hit, the damage to the building took that away, and a lot of that stuff had to be thrown away.

Five years after the hurricanes, the studio got a face lift from the contractors, and the here come Hurricane Scotty. If you know me, you know I love being the life of the party and want everyone around me to have a good time. So it was only fitting that I had to add my own touch to this place.

The “upgrade” started off slow. We had the Gator 99.5 sign plugged in, but it was just sitting in the corner on the floor, which absolutely killed me. After about a month of looking at it like that, I finally brought in my drill and mounted it on the wall. That’s when I realized, the studio still needed a little more personality.

Next, I hung up some of our autographed guitars to give it that extra flair. Then one day, while shopping at a local store, I spotted some beer and bar signs that were priced just right. I thought to myself, “You know what? I’m gonna buy those for the studio.”

The “Gator on the Go” alligator was being stored upstairs, and I figured, since we’re called Gator 99.5, what better place to put it than right here in the studio? So It gets to sit next to me every morning.

Now, with all of that being said, we still don’t have a name for our studio/bar/man cave! And that’s where you come in.

Below is a list of our top name ideas we got from the Gator Facebook Page, and we’re letting you, the listeners, decide what it should be called. Vote as many times as you’d like, and we’ll announce the winning name later this week!

I also want to give a shoutout to two of my best friends, Mike Soileau and Chaston Tavares. They’ve put up with me decorating the studio, and I know that’s not always an easy pill to Swallow or Soileau?
