Cruise Line Begging Louisiana Customers To Complain? They Are
There is a saying about opinions in Louisiana that goes roughly like this. "In Louisiana, opinions are like certain orifices on the body, everybody has got one". If you grew up in Alexandria, Lake Charles, Lafayette, New Orleans, or Bunkie you probably heard that saying a little differently than we have displayed it here but, you get the idea.
All of us love to share our opinions. The problem is there just aren't enough people in the vicinity for us to share our point of view with. After all, we are observant, we see things, we have expectations, we demand more for our money, and that's where the "orifice" part of the old saying comes from.
But believe it or not, it is possible to share your opinion without being the "north end of a southbound mule". And one cruise line that's very popular with Louisiana vacationers is practically begging you to share yours but in a timely manner.
One of my favorite "follows" on social media is John Heald. John is the "Brand Ambassador for Carnival Cruise Lines". I read a lot of John's posts and he is charming, witty, and a bit snarky when need be, but always attentive to the requests that guests make. However, in a recent post, John was quick to address the issue of complaints while on board.
His position and the position of Carnival Cruise Lines appear to be this, "If you have a complaint tell someone while you're onboard so the crew can fix it for you". Apparently a lot of customers like to complain to John after their cruise has ended. Which means all that John or the Carnival Crew can do is listen. However, if the complaint or concern was made while under sail, the problem could and would be corrected.
Hey, it's your vacation. You're paying for the experience and if you're not satisfied tell someone. It doesn't matter if it's something small like you can't find a deck chair or something big like people smoking on the balcony next to your stateroom. Tell someone. They'll fix it and they don't bite.
Try it on your next cruise and you'll never eat an overcooked steak or be subjected to cigar smoke at the buffet. As John Heald suggests in his articles on social media every complaint is a gift, it's a chance to do better and that's what you should expect from true travel professionals.
