KNGT | Lake Charles, LA — Alright y’all… this week’s Cajun Weekend Weather Report feels like Louisiana officially turning the heat all the way up. According to The Weather Channel we got warm temps, humidity thick enough to chew on, and scattered thunderstorms hanging around all weekend long. Basically… welcome to summer in Southwest Louisiana.
Weekend Weather in Southwest Louisiana
Friday
Friday rolls in with highs around 87 and scattered thunderstorms hanging around. Now look… it ain’t gonna rain all day. But you know how this works around here. You’ll be outside sweating, thinking maybe the rain missed us… then outta nowhere the sky gets dark and everybody starts running for cover. That’s just Louisiana keeping us humble. Also… with temps in the upper 80s and humidity climbing… yeah… better get that extra bag of ice for the cooler. You gonna need it this weekend.
Saturday
Saturday is basically Friday wearing a different shirt. More heat. More humidity. More scattered storms. Honestly, this is one of those weekends where you just gotta accept the fact you might get rained on for ten minutes and then immediately start sweating again. Still though… don’t cancel your plans.
Cookouts? Still happening.
Fishing trips? Yep.
Baseball tournaments? Oh they definitely still playing. Just maybe don’t spend too much time fixing your hair.
Sunday
Sunday stays hot too with highs around 87 again and more scattered storms in the forecast. This feels like classic “stay close to air conditioning” weather. You can absolutely still get outside and enjoy yourself… just pace yourself a little. Drink water. Find shade. And if somebody offers you a spot under a patio fan… take it. So here’s the official game plan for this weekend…
Hot mornings.
Sticky afternoons.
Random storms popping up whenever they feel like it.
Basically… Southwest Louisiana doing Southwest Louisiana things.
That’s your Cajun Weekend Weather Report. We ain’t just telling you what’s coming… we telling you how to survive it.
