The Latest on LSU Football & Lane Kiffin Saga

The Lane Kiffin situation has been an interesting one to follow over the last few weeks. Things have ramped up this week.

On Saturday Night, following Ole Miss's win over Florida, Lane Kiffin was asked very directly about whether or not he could see himself as the Coach at Ole Miss in 2026. Here's what Kiffin had to say...

“I love what we’re doing here," Kiffin said. "Today was awesome. I don’t talk about that stuff. To even talk about it here would be so disrespectful to our players and how well they played today."

It has since been reported that Kiffin's family toured Baton Rouge on Monday after LSU flew a plane out to Oxford to meet them. It is believed that the Kiffin family was in Gainesville on Sunday prior to the Baton Rouge visit.

It was later reported by Yahoo Sports that Ole Miss had given Kiffin and his team an ultimatum for him to come to a decision by Next Friday's Egg Bowl matchup with Mississippi State. Kiffin denied that on Tuesday morning's appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.

Personally, I think Lane Kiffin actually makes a lot of sense for LSU. Louisiana produces a ton of in-state talent, and Kiffin is one of the best coaches in the country at supplementing the transfer portal with his developing high school players. If you combine his strengths with what LSU already has, he could build something really special in Baton Rouge.

Now, would he actually take the job? Of course, he would. It just comes down to which situation he feels best suits him.

We'll continue to follow the chaos in Baton Rouge for you...
