Louisiana Is Moving Into Phasetwo, Here’s What That Means
Today, Governor Edwards announced Louisiana will be moving into Phase Two beginning Friday, June 5. The question at hand now is what does that mean for more businesses that have been closed down?
According to the Phase Two plan, capacities for areas already open will increase, amusements will open up, and bars that do not have and LDH permit will be able to open at a 25% capacity. Businesses that have already been operating at 25% will now be allowed to increase to 50% capacity. Although more things are opening, it was made very clear that we must continue to observe the six-foot social distancing rule.
Places that can operate at 50% capacity now:
- Churches
- Barbershops/Salons
- Theaters
- Malls
- Gyms/Fitness Centers
- Playgrounds
- Museums, Zoos, Aquariums
- Restaurants
- Theaters
- Casinos/Video Poker Places
- Racetracks, but not open for spectators
- Day Spas, Tattoo Shops, Massage, Estheticians
- Controlled Recreational Swimming Pools
- Bowling/Skating
- Event Centers
Places that can operate at 25% capacity:
- Bars
- Breweries
There are more items listed and more specific details on the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshall. It is a very good sign to see this phase of opening come to fruition as many of these businesses have not been open for months.
