Baton Rouge, Louisiana (KNGT-FM) - It certainly wasn't the season many Tiger fans envisioned coming into the 2025 College Football season. The Tigers had big expectations coming into the season, and those expectations grew even higher after the Tigers defeated Clemson to open up the season. Boy, if we only knew then what we know now...

On Sunday, the College Football Playoff bracket was revealed, which means bowl designations were announced, and it looks like LSU will be heading to a familiar place for their bowl game.

Chaos is likely the word that describes the City of Baton Rouge the best over the last few weeks. From the Governor, to a new president, a new Athletics Director, and now a new Head Football Coach, chaotic might be putting it lightly.

Athletics Director Verge Ausberry won over the hearts of many Tiger fans with his football hire after he went and tabbed Ole Miss Head Coach Lane Kiffin and some of his staff. With that staff looking into the future, the former staff will look to finish out the 2025 season with a bowl game.

LSU To Face Houston in 2025 TaxAct Bowl

For the second season in a row, the Tigers will take the trip to Houston for the TaxAct Bowl, the Southeastern Conference announced on Sunday. Interim Coach Frank Wilson will continue to coach the Tigers in the Bowl game as they will take on No. 21 Houston, which comes in at 9-3. The game is set for Saturday, December 27, at NRG Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 p.m. on ESPN.

This year’s trip will be LSU’s fourth appearance in the Texas Bowl. The Tigers are 2-1 in the game’s history. Last season, LSU took down Baylor 44-31. In 2015, LSU beat Patrick Mahomes and Texas Tech 56-27. The lone loss came in 2021 when Kansas State defeated the Tigers 42-20. LSU also enters this year’s bowl game with a three-game bowl winning streak after recent victories over Purdue and Wisconsin.
