McNeese Homecoming Parade This Thursday In Lake Charles – Things You Need To Know

It's homecoming week for the McNeese Cowboys football team as they get ready for a big Southland Conference matchup against Northwestern State on Saturday night. Before the game happens, there are a ton of events for the public to enjoy to celebrate the homecoming week.

First is the annual McNeese Homecoming parade which will take place tomorrow night, October 26th, 2023 in Lake Charles. The parade will feature local businesses, McNeese Alumni, the McNeese band, sororities, and fraternities as well as the football team parading down Ryan Street.

Here are some things you need to know before you go to the parade Thursday night.

If you are going to be in the parade, you will need to line up your float between 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in Lot A which is across from the football stadium. The parade will leave Lot A around 5:45 p.m. to head down Common Street to the lineup to get on Ryan Street.

The Parade will begin at 7:00 p.m.starting on the corner of East LaGrange Street and Ryan Street. It will turn South on Ryan Street and travel down to McNeese Street. Then it will turn East on McNeese Street and end back at the parking lot A in front of the stadium.

Friday night, head out to the corner of Common and McNeese Streets for the Cowboy Block Party which gets underway at 7:00 p.m. It is free to attend and open to all ages, you can bring your own chairs and ice chests, and get ready to rock to the sounds of LA ROXX live on stage.

Then of course tailgate on Saturday before the big homecoming game Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. as the Cowboys take on Northwestern State.
