Coming up on Monday, the nation will celebrate the Memorial Day holiday. Most of you fortunate enough to have the day off will be able to enjoy a three-day weekend. That will be a welcome sight for most who will try and enjoy an extra day to spend with family, friends, or outdoors.

Just remember what Memorial Day is all about though. Memorial Day is a day to remember those who have died in service to our country. The men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country and for us to be able to live the life we live here in America.

With the holiday fast approaching, all of our city, parish, and federal buildings and offices will be closed to observe the holiday. This will mean a pause on services you are used to getting during the week.

The City of Lake Charles will observe Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, 2024. Be advised that the Lake Charles City Hall will be closed on this day, and there will not be any trash or garbage picked up on Monday, May 27, 2024.
