No pandemic will stop New Orleans from celebrating Mardi Gras. Residents are showing off their carnival spirit after parades and balls have been canceled due to COVID.

Only in NOLA would you see Mardi Gras house floats. Residents and city artists are decorating homes and tricking them out, making them look like the legendary parades that would normally fill the streets every Mardi Gras season.

So far, more than 500 homes are participating in a massive show of Louisiana spirit. In addition, this initiative is creating work for New Orleans artists who've been out of work because of the pandemic. I have a feeling house floats are going to be a new Fat Tuesday tradition. This may even be worth the drive, everyone.

You can safely pass by the homes and hopefully enjoy Mardi Gras in a new way.
