Pro Watercross National Championships Coming To Lake Charles In August

Pro Watercross will be holding their National Championship in just a few short weeks RIGHT HERE in Lake Charles! If you are looking for a fun, family-friendly event, this Is just the thing for you and your family!

So what is Watercross you may ask... As you may have guessed, it’s a lot like Motorcross, but it happens on the water with athletes who compete on unpredictable liquid tracks varying from oceans to rivers to lakes. They're going to be competing for a second straight year right here in our backyard in Lake Charles.

The races will take place August 5-6 at the I-10 Beach here in Downtown Lake Charles. The best part, it is absolutely FREE to watch the riders compete to bring home the Championship!

If you have attended the event in the past, some things have changed in terms of parking and race locations. According to Visit Lake Charles, they will now race at a NEW LOCATION on the west end of the park. If you are trying to enter for the event, the park must be approached via I-10 West to Exit 30A (I-10 Service Rd/N Lakeshore Drive). Once you pass through the underpass of I-10, proceed directly into the parking area on the right-hand side.

Saturday, August 5th

• 9:15 a.m. - Practice begins for all racers
• 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. - Pro Show
• The Pro-Am Championship Award Ceremony will take place 45 minutes after racing.

Sunday, August 6th

• 8:45 a.m. - Amateur racing begins
• The Amateur National Championship Award Ceremony will take place 30 minutes after racing.
