With all the rain in the area, local officials have set up sand bag locations for people to utilize that live in low lying areas.

Calcasieu, Beauregard, Jeff Davis, Cameron and Vernon parishes have released locations where residents can get sand bags in their Parish.

CALCASIEU

  • Ward 3 Public Works Facility, James Sudduth Parkway behind 5500B Swift Plant Road in Lake Charles.
  • Ward 4 Public Works Facility, at 2915 Post Oak Road in Sulphur.
  • Ward 1 Barn, 461 Parish Road, Moss Bluff.
  • Ward 2 Barn, 7085 La. 14 East, Hayes.
  • Ward 3 Old Parish Barn, 2320 Smith Road, Lake Charles.
  • Old Ward 5 Barn, 129 Third Street, Starks.
  • Ward 6 Barn, 1275 Plum Street, DeQuincy.
  • Fire Station, 2205 La. 388, Vinton.
  • Ward 8 Barn, 1726 Parish Barn Road, Iowa.

* Sand and bags are provided, but residents will need to bring a shovel.

BEAUREGARD

  • Parish sign shop at 1203 Third Ave., DeRidder. For more information, call 337-462-8020

JEFF DAVIS PARISH

  • Jennings Police Jury Road Yard on Airport Road.
  • Lake Arthur Community Center (pick up bag first at Lake Arthur Police Department).
  • Woodlawn Fire Station.
  • Welsh Police Jury yard, across from Welsh Community Center.
  • Hathaway Fire Station on La. 102.
  • Fenton Police Jury yard on Estes Road.
  • Lacassine Fire Station on Ann Street.

CAMERON PARISH

  • No sandbag location available at this time. OEP Director Danny Lavergne says that because most homes in Cameron are raised, most residents are not in need of sandbags.

VERNON PARISH

  • Parish maintenance department at 602 Alexandria Hwy., Leesville. Limit of 25 bags per residence. Sandbags may be picked up until 6 p.m. Tuesday. Normal business hours are from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

With another 70% chance of rain today and tonight, you might need to utilze these locations and be prepared.
