Southwest Louisiana School Closures For Wednesday, April 10th

8:30 am -- Press release from the Calcasieu Parish School Board

The Calcasieu Parish School Board will conduct early dismissal at all schools today due to power outages across the district. Schools will be dismissing at 8:30 a.m. Normal dismissal procedures will be followed, and students will be dismissed following normal transportation plans.

8:10 am-- All Calcasieu Parish schools closed at 8:30 am this morning. If your child gets transportation to and from school, it will be provided for them. if not you will need to pick up your child at 8:30 am.

Update: 7:45 am -- S J Welsh located on West McNeese Street in Lake Charles is closed today due to no power.

Update: 7:00 am

According to the Calcasieu Parish School Board, schools in the parish will be open today.

Due to the severe weather rolling through Southwest Louisiana today, several parishes have closed schools today.
