The question on every Saints fan's mind is who will succeed future Hall Of Fame quarterback Drew Brees this season. It seems that it is coming down to a two-man race.

Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston are battling for the starting quarterback position this season for the Saints.

Hill came to New Orleans in 2017 after playing for the Green Bay Packers. Taysom has been a utility player for the Saints since his arrival as he has played quarterback, running back, kick and punt returner and most of the other positions.

Jameis Winston came to New Orleans last season in 2020 after not being resigned by the Tampa Bay because they picked up Tom Brady.
Last season, Winston played in four games while Taysom Hill played in all 16 regular-season games.

Head coach Sean Payton has said that he would like to name the starter for the quarterback position before their final preseason game against Arizona this Saturday night.

With that being said, tonight's preseason game against the Jaguars is very important for Winston and Hill to go out and show their stuff. Their performance tonight will probably concrete Sean Payton decision on who his 2021 week one starter will be.

Last week, Taysom Hill went 8 of 12 with one touchdown and one interception, Jameis Winston went 7 for 12 with also one touchdown pass and one interception. So as you can see, their performances were almost the same.

The Saints will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars tonight on Monday Night Football. The game will be played in New Orleans and kickoff is set for 7:00 pm. The game will be televised on ESPN.
