If you missed the Taste of Home Cooking Show at the Lake Charles Civic Center, then you missed the part of the night where I rushed the stage, chloroformed hostess Jamie Dunn and then made off with most of the dishes, which I ate in the parking lot like a crazed, homeless person.

Okay, that didn't really happen, but boy did I fantasize about it a lot.

Want a crack at some of the great prizes we gave away at Taste of Home?  Went to Taste of Home and wish you had extras to give to friends and family?  Keep your eyes peeled, and we'll have details on how you can get your hands on some of this stuff soon!

It was a night of prizes big and small, as the night's hosts -- Gator 99.5's Don Rivers and 107 JAMZ's Gina Cook -- gave away everything but the kitchen sink.  And that's only because we didn't have a kitchen sink handy.

The bad thing about the Internet is that I can't use it yet to share smells with you.  If you were there, you don't have to worry -- you can recreate everything Jamie Dunn cooked over the evening.  She followed along in her recipe guide step-by-step.

Attendees walked out with a goodie bag stuffed to the gills with cookbooks, coupons and other neat prizes.  Plus, our sponsors loaded us up with even more prizes to give away.  It was like a Food Network show had a baby with "The Price is Right."

Anyhoo, if you missed it, sucks to be you.  But don't worry, it'll be back next year with more prizes and more delicious recipes.  And if you see me in the parking lot chowing down on those Italian meatballs, just turn away, man.  Just turn away.
