The USA Today/Amway coaches preseason college football poll has been released which means the new season will be here before you know it.

Two Louisiana college football teams have landed on the college football preseason rankings. The LSU Tigers and the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana Lafayette have found themselves on the preseason top 25 poll.

For the Cajuns, they landed on the top 25 poll in the #23 slot. It's the first time in the schools football programs history that the Cajuns have been ranked nationally in a major preseason poll.

Last season the Cajuns finished the season at 10-1 on the season and beat UTSA in the First Responders Bowl 31-24 to end a stellar season.

The Cajuns will open up the 2021 season taking on the Texas Longhorns in Austin Texas on September 4th at 3:30pm.

The LSU Tigers also landed on the USA Today/Amway coaches preseason college football poll as the Tigers are currently ranked at #13. Last season it was rough for the Tigers. They finished the season at an even 5-5 on the year and didn't play in a bowl game.

LSU will open up the 2021 season in Pasadena, California when the travel to take on UCLA on Saturday, September 4th. The game is set for 7:30pm and will be televised on FOX.

Then LSU returns back to Baton Rouge to host Lake Charles own McNeese Cowboys on September 11th in death valley.

If you are wondering, the top team in the preseason poll is Alabama.
