Dwight Yoakam will be live in Lake Charles at the Golden Nugget's Grand Event Center on Friday night. He will take the stage at 8:30 pm that night. Tickets may still be available on the casino's website.

The Cajun Music and Food Festival is taking place at the Burton Coliseum in South Lake Charles this Saturday, July 18th. This will be its 39th year, put on by the Lake Charles chapter of the Cajun French Music Association.

  • 9:30 am -- Accordion Contest
  • 10:30 am -- Donny Broussard & Louisiana Stars
  • 1:00 pm -- Ivy Dugas, Kaleb Trahan, and Cajun Cousins
  • 3:30 pm -- Jason Frey, Ray Thibodeaux, and Friends
  • 6:00 pm -- Paul Daigle & Cajun Gold

Two different Farmers' Markets will be held this Saturday in the area. The Moss Bluff Farmers Market will be open Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to noon at 325 Sam Houston Jones Parkway.

Also, the Charlestown Farmers Market in downtown Lake Charles will be open. It is located at the Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center, and the weekly market brings together local growers, bakers, artists, and food vendors every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
