Fast Food Chain Closing 140 Locations: Is Louisiana Affected?
A major shake-up is happening in the fast food world as a popular chain is set to close over 100 locations across the country, leaving fans shocked and worried. Could your favorite spot be next? And what does this mean for beloved locations in Louisiana? We've got everything you need to know about what is to come...
It feels like every few days we get sad news about major chain businesses, and unfortunately, some of our LOCALLY OWNED businesses, are having to close their doors. Just a few weeks ago, we reported about the closing of Denny's locations across the state.
According to a recent announcement (via CNN), Wendy’s, the popular fast-food chain known for its burgers, is set to close 140 restaurants in the coming months. This move comes after an earlier round of 100 closures back in May. Despite these shutdowns, Wendy’s still plans to maintain the number of its restaurants across the U.S., which stands at about 6,000. How? The chain will open new locations in places that are expected to perform better for business.
According to the report from CNN, Wendy’s mixed earnings report showed same-store sales growth of only 0.2%, which fell below analysts’ expectations. However, there’s still good news for the chain. Their SpongeBob SquarePants-themed meal has become popular, boosting sales and giving the company hope for future growth.
Now the real question is, will Louisiana Wendy's locations be affected?
Unfortunately, Wendy’s hasn’t shared a list of which locations will be closing, so it’s unclear if any restaurants in Louisiana will be affected. Tanner mentioned that closures aren’t concentrated in one specific region, making it hard to pinpoint if certain states will see more shutdowns than others.
